Best Place to Stay in Paris

Imagine Paris and so many adjectives pop up in your mind. All of them are indeed true. I love Paris for a short stay but don’t want to live here. Anyways, purpose of this post is to give you some no-nonsense and useful information to make the most of your Paris trip.

I suggest you to stay either in La Citie or Chateaux area. La Citie is a river island in the middle of everything that is worth seeing and enjoying in Paris. And moreover it is high density shopping and eating area. But if you to poke other option, the best ones would be Chateaux which is on one side of the Island La Citie or St Michel area on the other side. La chateau is in fact epicenter of all major attractions that you'd want to explore, but on the mainland/proper Paris. You have plenty of choices to stay but as a thumb rule stay close by the river or near the metro station. In Chateaux area, never miss a chance to savour at Zimmermans (splurge) and it is sin if you don’t try roadside rum crepes or Salt and Cheese crepes. The one that pulls crowds and best is opposite Zimmerman at Chateaux metro circle. It costs around 3 Euros. Then hotels from every corner of the world (Tibetan, Peruvian, Mexican...every country), 10s of pizza shops, etc. are scattered all around till midnight (very unusual for European/French standards). If you are student, you better be in St Michel area that offers cheap hotels, restaurants, pubs, discos and shopping zones. Go there only if you are in groups.

If you are missing Indian food or to know how it is sold as “Indian”, go to Gare Du Nord (North Railway Station) which is 4 stops away from Chateaux metro. Once you are out of the Gare du Nord station, it’s hard to believe that you are NOT in India/Srilanka. I don’t want to write what you can: see, buy, fashion, culture etc which you'd get from any website. I believe that the location where you stay determines the length and breadth of your touring experiences for many reasons. Therefore this post. If you need any to-the-point practical info, do ask me in comments.

P.S: If your wife/girlfriend are shopping evils, please don’t go for a walk in the evenings in any of the areas I mentioned. She'd loot you for inescapable fashion and luxury temptations all over.
